Key factors to use audio and video files in PowerPoint:

1. Audio and video files are not embedded in the PowerPoint files. Graphics files are.

2. When you create a new PowerPoint create a folder just for that PowerPoint and save as into that folder. If you are working on an existing PowerPoint save it to the folder.

3. You MUST save all videos and audio files that you use in your PowerPoint in the same folder.


4. Convert video for use in PowerPoint.

7. There is free software called Jing which allows you to capture anything you play on your computer screen.

8. United Streaming downloads do not need to be converted. They can be inserted directly into PowerPoint. They must be saved in the same folder as your PowerPoint (see item #3).

9. Window users (Mac users see me) use .wmv or .mp4 video formats.
Window users use .mp3 or .wav audio formats.
